BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is a sustainability assessment method for building design, construction and operation, and measures sustainable value in a series of categories. This assessment method for new homes is referred to as the Code for Sustainable Homes (CfSH). One of the categories evaluated is Land Use and Ecology, which includes an assessment of the ecological value of the site, any ecological enhancements, the protection of existing ecological features and the overall change in ecological value as a result of the proposed development. Echoes Ecology have a number of staff able to fulfil the requirements for a Suitably Qualified Ecologist under the BREEAM/CfSH schemes. We can offer a full site survey and report in relation to the Land Use and Ecology category and provide advice on opportunities to obtain further credits.
