Ecological Impact Assessment

Ecological Impact Assessment

Echoes Ecology have completed Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs) for major developments including mineral extraction schemes, residential sites, leisure complexes and wind farms.  The services that Echoes can provide include the following:

  • Scoping Report – Production of an Ecological Scoping Report or ecological input into a multi-disciplinary Scoping Report. The ecological scoping process will establish an initial understanding of the baseline ecological conditions and identify ecological receptors, the level of survey effort required and potential licensing requirements.  It will also highlight activities that may generate significant ecological impacts, including potential cumulative impacts and establish a consultation strategy
  • Baseline Survey Work – We have an experienced team with a wide range of specialisms who can deliver a full suite of baseline ecological surveys
  • EcIA/EIA Reporting – We produce well-structured EcIA reports or ecology chapters for inclusion within Environmental Statements (ES), written to a technically high standard in line with the relevant industry standard guidance. The EcIA/EIA reporting describes the methods and results of the baseline surveys, evaluates the importance of ecological receptors, assesses the impacts on the ecological receptors, describes mitigation which is incorporated into the Development, identifies cumulative impacts and then predicts the residual impacts on ecological receptors as a result of the Development.
