Biodiversity Net Gain

In line with Policy 3 of NPF4, development proposals must contribute to the enhancement of biodiversity. This includes implementing measures to conserve, restore, and enhance biodiversity in a way that is proportionate to the nature and scale of the development. Proposals for national or major developments, or those requiring an Environmental Impact Assessment, must demonstrate that biodiversity , including nature networks, will be left in a demonstrably better state than without intervention.

Echoes Ecology Ltd provides a range of baseline surveys and habitat condition assessments to support these requirements, alongside liaison and negotiation with Local Authorities and other stakeholders. We can prepare detailed Habitat Management Plans, or Biodiversity Statements for smaller sites, to clearly demonstrate compliance with NPF4.  Where required, we can also use the Statutory Biodiversity Metric.
